The parade is part of the annual Chinese New Year celebration, also known as the Spring Festival, which is a time to honor centuries-old traditions and new beginnings.
The parade features a majestic dragon, lion and ribbon dances, Chinese opera performers, and characters representing the Zodiac animals and ancient armies. The parade route begins at the junction of Oxford Street and George Street, and ends in Chinatown. Along the way, the parade passes through Portland Street, Princess Street, and Faulkner Street. Chinatown will also be celebrating with a live performance stage and fun fair.
