Wide expansive beaches, rocky coves, rolling hills, valley plains, harbours and rivers combine within 150 square miles to make the Isle of Wight an explorers dream. It is known for its beaches and seafront promenades such as sandy Shanklin Beach and south-facing Ventnor Beach, which is dotted with vintage beach huts. Sandown sits on the Southern coast of the Isle of Wight, sheltered in a beautiful bay, and is famed for its long stretches of golden sandy beach and the traditional British seafront and pier. On the islands western point, The Needles are 3 huge, white chalk rocks, guarded by a 19th-century lighthouse.

Royal Pier Hotel
The Royal Pier Hotel, is one of Sandowns finest hotels, and was originally built by the Victorians for Princess Beatrice as her summer residence.
The property later became a very popular meeting place for those wealthy travellers who followed in the path of Royalty to walk the pier and enjoy the invigorating fresh sea air. Hence the Royal Pier Hotel was established and has since then cared for many visitors.
The Hotel is situated on the seafront facing one of the finest award winning and perhaps the most popular beach on the island. The hotel is centrally located in Sandown, less than 2 minutes walk away from the high street.
The hotel has a lift to all floors, an indoor heated swimming pool (charges apply) and two fully licensed bars. All rooms at the hotel are en-suite with television and tea/coffee making facilities.
Please note as this is a Victorian building, low floor rooms near the lift are limited.
