Discover the Imperial War Museum Duxford's D-Day story in this 80th anniversary year and commemorate through a live-action flying display, living history groups, the museum and static collections the stories of the people who lived and fought during the Second World War – and the significance of the events of 6 June 1944.
On D-Day, 6th June 1944, Allied Forces launched a combined naval, air and land assault on Nazi-occupied France.
Codenamed Operation 'Overlord', the Allied landings on the the Normandy beaches, marked the start of a long and costly campaign to liberate North West Europe from German occupation.
